The music video challenges a few conventions of music video's. In most music videos an actor or the singer is lip syncing most of the lyrics. In the music video there's only one scene of lip syncing. The music video was about friendship. Most music videos are about relationships. There wasn’t any throw away scenes just to take up a lot of time. There wasn’t a lot of cutting between scenes. The music video used a lot of convections also. A lot of stereotypes were used purposefully, which does represent social groups and issues. Bullying was addressed in the music video. The mean girl wasn't a white girl in the music, it was an Africa American girl. The music video engages with audiences because it’s relatable. A lot of teens deal with bullying. People also tend to choose to surround themselves with the wrong people. For most people it takes being wronged by the person again and again to let them go.
