Props within the Film

Image
Hi guys, welcome back! So, for the film there was a lot props involved. Some the props that were used needed safety measures. Car keys were used in one of the scenes, these keys were Natalia's dad's. There was fake blood that was also used. I had to be very careful with the fake blood because it would stain clothes. Omnia (the main actress), had to have it on her back. The blood would've stained her shirt, so I gave her my wet shirt. It didn't end up staining the shirt. I can't say the same for my hands though. They were stained for around 3 days with the fake blood. There was also a scare that the fake blood would cement surrounding the pool. It did for a second, but with enough water poured onto it, it was fine. The biggest safety measure that was taken for real kitchen knife that was used. There was a safety kit that was on hand. Natalia's  dad was also home when the scene was being shot. So, if anything ended up happening it would've gotten quickly take

Filming Process

Image
Hi, welcome back! So, the filming has been done. It was definitely a fun experience. This was my first acting roll, and i’m not going to lie i think i did pretty well. But, then again i didn’t have any lines. I just had to act creepy. It was quite easy due to the mask i had. Overall the filming process was pretty smooth. Natalia did an amazing job in directing. I think the film shows how the groups skills have been honed. This was definitely very apparent in the filming process. There were certain scenes that were changed from the story board though or scenes that were added. The changes weren’t major, but there were still a few. It’s because the house didn’t work for certain scenes. Like there was a scene of the killer watching the main character from outside the house. This scene wasn’t practical to film, because the windows were tinted to keep the sun out. This scene was going to be shot during the day, so we were unable to see in. So the scene was switch and we showed that the ki

Recent Events

Image
Hey welcome back everyone! A lot has happened since we last spoke. One of the group members had been out of town for some of the week, and a lot of events have occurred at school and outside of school. There's been several lockdown at school. Luckily everyone was safe. Outside of school some things have happened with the filming. The location has switched last minute. It's not going to be at the back up location that's my house. It's going to be at Natalia's beach house. The last might change was due to people renting the house were planning to film at. The beach house still has all the necessities needed to film. Some scenes may need to be adjusted a little to fit the layout of the house. The most important part is that the house has a pool and which it does. When we start filming we're definitely going to scout out the house to figure out what rooms we're filming in. Everything else should fall into line nicely. The mask i ordered for the film came in. It

Plans For Production

Image
Hey, welcome back! So the production hasn’t started yet, but there’s a set plan for it. So, it’s going to be filmed at Natalia’s house on March, 16th. That day is an early release day, so it gives me and the group a lot of time to film. Most of the short film is going to take place at night. A small problem that the group ran into was realizing that Spring Forward is going to happen this weekend. The day of filming is a Thursday, so there might’ve been some trouble with filming late. Luckily though, it’s actually the day the school gets out for spring break. So there’s as much time as needed for filming, seeing as there’s no school the next day. The casting has already been done for the short film also. I’m surprisingly going to be playing a part in this film. This is my first time having a part in the acting part of the production. I’m normally always the one filming and doing most of the directing. I’m actually very excited to have a part in this film and i hope my character is int

Web Quest for Halloween Mask

Image
Hello, it’s so nice to see you again! So, for the movie there’s going to be a killer. Now as we all know every killer needs a mask. It adds to the suspense, the horror, overall just an iconic convention. It’s one that i didn’t wanna miss out on. Especially cause i’m going to be the one behind it. Shhhhhh…… Now ive been thinking about it for a while. I already knew most masks were off the market, cause i’m not the biggest fan of getting sued. The mask shouldn’t be a paranormal one either, because this story isn’t paranormal. I did a lot of searching, because i think the mask plays a big part in the film. It has to be off putting, but realistic. Maybe even lead the views to wonder the story behind it. I wanted to make sure that the mask would come in time before filming also, so i know what i’m working with and how to make it fit the best in my costume. I decided on getting a scarecrow mask. I wouldn’t be wearing a scarecrow outfit, so it shouldn’t draw the viewer to think the killer is

Planning Blog

It’s so nice of you to stop by! Planning is essential to creating the opening scene. My group and I are thinking that filming should take place at Natalia’s house. For the opening scene of our thriller, we felt her house would be best suited for our vision. Natalia’s house is the most convenient and logical. The ideal day we are attempting to complete filming is Friday March 17th after school. Our project will have scenes that take place during day and night so after school will be perfect. Filming after school allows us to have plenty of time to do our day and night scenes. Ideally, the plan is to go home with Natalia from school . This is so that none of us have to rely on other rides to make it to her house. We will take many safety precautions. Our film will contain a pool scene so health and safety precautions include our group being in possession of a life vest. We will also have a first aid kit on hand. Costume and props are a vital component to the opening scene. This include b
