Hey, welcome back! In commercials on donuts, there’s a mix of diegetic and non-diegetic sound. Diegetic sound is an important aspect. There is music in the back of each scene that fits the mood and appeals to the viewer. If characters are shown, then there’s dialogue used to move the scene along. A lot of the time there are voice overs that narrate about the coffee or food that’s shown. Ambient sound is background noise which can be heard as other characters in the background of the shop or just surrounding noise present. In certain commercials there’s point of view shots and eyeline matches, in which the camera is what the barista would be seeing and doing. There's a lot of high and low camera angles for dramatic effect, for example, when they are drizzling caramel or chocolate on top of the coffee or donut. There are a lot of close ups and zooms on the desired products to emphasize the food presented. There's a lot of cross cutting to different people in these commercials. Sometimes commercials use split screen to show the companies two different products; like donuts and then coffee. There are normally a lot of editing effects like fade ins/outs and reverse shots to create a dramatic and entertaining commercial. The props are the coffee and donuts. Costume refers to a person's or a group's particular manner of dressing that reflects what the character represents. The character’s are normally in everyday clothing or in business casual clothing, because they could be going to work. The lightning and colors are normally very bright and colorful or very dramatic and dark. They’re bright and colorful when there’s characters and there’s cross cutting between scenes, they’re more dramatic and dark when they’re just focusing on the product. Depending on how the commercial wants to present their product, depends on how it's shot. Some commercials just focus on the product, while others have another storyline to it. Anyways, it was nice talking to you. Catch you later.
